Fips’ Birthday
The Golden Lane in Prague. In the past, its charming and colourful little houses were mainly inhabited by simple and poor people.
For many centuries the gatekeepers – who guarded the castle gates – had their lodgings here.
About fifty years ago, the last residents left the narrow Golden Lane. But the tiny alley is by no means unpopulated: All kinds of animals have moved into the rows of houses abandoned by the people – cats, sparrows, cockchafers, glow-worms – and even the little monkey Fips, the hero of this tale.
